Micah, Bob Woodward. If you look at the back of a dollar bill, or other American currency, you will see the phrase "In God We Trust." Yes, it's still there despite attempts to have it removed. If the prophet Micah were alive today he would ask, "Christian, do you really trust him....fully?" Many people think they know about Micah. After all he prophesied the birth of the Messiah in Bethlehem. But there is much more to this prophet. Join us for a challenging study of this servant of God beginning in September.

How Should We Then Live: The Rise and Decline of Western Thought and Culture, Kevin Miller Starting from ancient Roman times, tracing man's development through Enlightenment, Francis Schaeffer shows the steps which led to the modern era, analyzes the reasons for modern society's state of affairs, and presents the only viable alternative: living by the Christian ethic, acceptance of God's revelation, and total affirmation of the Bible's morals, values, and meaning.
Charisma: A Critique, Buz Taylor Most of today’s Evangelical culture, especially the media, is “Charismatic” a belief in the restoration of the 1st Century gifts (charisma, Greek for ‘gifts), specifically those of prophecy, tongues and healing. Today, Charismatics go way beyond that into all kinds of unusual practices. How biblical is the movement? Have they restored anything that was missing for centuries? What is their history? Can we learn anything from them? As a former Charismatic I hope to answer these and many more questions in a kind, inoffensive, but direct manner, considering that I have many godly friends who are still involved in these churches.

The Wisdom of Solomon: Ecclesiastes for the Daring, Dan Seitz. From the book A Table in the Mist by Pastor Jeffrey Meyers, "Biblical wisdom does not give us the power to leverage the world to ensure our own health or success. Death in its various forms is everyone's future. Nevertheless, we can genuinely enjoy life. Joy and curse, not one or the other. According to Solomon, the wise man will affirm them both." Prepare to be challenged.

The book we will be studying is Far As the Curse Is Found by Michael Williams. Everyone participating in the class will be asked to obtain a copy of the book and read it in order to be able to contribute to the discussion. Contact Dave Lepley if you need help with the cost of the book.
