Ministries

At CRPC, there are as many opportunities for ministry as there are people. Often the best way to serve is to welcome a visitor and see if they have any questions about the church. Or warmly greet a child, learn their name, and encourage them. Or engage in meaningful conversation with those around you about the sermon and about your lives and how you can pray for one another. Or have people over for lunch and get to know each other better.

Here is some information on the more formal ministries of CRPC:

Membership

We think every Christian should be a committed member of a local church, where they can be encouraged and held accountable by fellow believers and be under the spiritual authority and shepherding care of church elders. We offer a Membership Class each Fall and Spring for those who are interested in joining the church, or simply learning more about what that means.

Men’s Ministry

Males of all ages gather for a monthly men’s breakfast for fellowship and teaching, the third Saturday of each month from 8:00-9:00. There are many informal opportunities for fellowship, discipleship, service, and accountability, and our men are encouraged to pursue those opportunities with one another.

Women’s Ministry

The Women’s Ministry Committee organizes and oversees various opportunities for our women and young girls to connect with one another, to grow in Christ, and to serve the body and the surrounding community. Gathering points include Bible studies, brunches, bridal and baby showers, and other events for fellowship, teaching, and service. As with men’s ministry, there are also numerous informal opportunities for our women to encourage each other, serve each other, pray for each other, and help each other follow Christ in their lives.

Small groups

Though there are many settings where we can carry out the “one another” commands in the New Testament, one organized setting is a small group. Small groups meet on different nights of the week for fellowship, teaching, and prayer. Some are ongoing, and some meet for a definite period to work through specific material together (e.g., a group of young moms working through a book on parenting).

Children’s Ministry

Our main ministry to children is the ordinary means of grace in corporate worship. We cannot improve upon the opportunities God gives our children in the reading of the Word, the preaching of the Word, the singing of the Word, the praying of the Word, and the seeing of the Word in the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. In addition to these opportunities, our children participate in age-graded Sunday school classes, in our mid-week prayer meeting, and in monthly boys’ nights and girls’ nights. The best way to serve our children is to get to know them and encourage them and pray for them, though there is also an ongoing need for nursery volunteers and children’s Sunday school teachers.
